Seems logical to ban the importation of salamanders from areas where the Bsal fungus occurs. I really hope Bsal doesn't become established here in N. America.

I'm curious if anyone knows why North American native genera such as Plethodon and Hydromantes are included in the banned list?

A quick read through the new rule makes it seem as though it will be illegal to 'acquire' all species of Plethodon, even the extremely common Eastern red-backed salamander. Am I mistaken?
