Hey all,
On an event shoot today I really felt the burn of how entry level my camera is compared to my OH's D7000 (which I know isn't particularly high end!), had to keep going into my menus to change my flash settings etc... I have next to no external function buttons.
Any opinions on it?!?
Cheers

Upgrading from a D5000... D300s or D7000 maybe?

Both are more than capable cameras. The D7000 does have a newer image processor, better high ISO performance, and an additional 4 megapixels for a total of 16.2. I currently shoot a D90, and if I had to choose between the two, it would be a difficult decision. I shoot primarily landscape photography, and there are a few features, that would steer me toward the D300s:
Nikon D7000 can bracket up to 3 frames, while D300s can bracket up to 9 frames The advantage of the D300s would help me immensely, when shooting scenes with a dynamic range greater than the camera, can record. I wouldn't need to spin the exposure dial as often, when bracketing images.
When it comes to AF system and focus points, the Nikon D300s has a superior pro-level AF sensor with 51 focus points and 15 cross-type sensors, while D7000 has 39 focus points and cross-type sensors. For action shots, I've always hated my D90s poor ability to focus.
