Which video camera are you using in the field?

Post by chrisr » August 16th, 2010, 6:10 am

Hello all. I finally got around to re-registering and I am going to re-ask a question I have asked before: What video camera do you recommend for field herping? I still haven't bought one and the market is changing so rapidly I figured I should bring this topic up again. One camera I have considered is this (price tag is right): http://www.amazon.com/Sony-DCR-HC62-Han ... B00123UGTO

thanks in advance for your suggestions/comments!

I've had my Canon HDV 20 for a few yrs now. Like it b/c it's small and seems to produce decent vid quality. Best advice I can give you is buy a vid camera based on the way you herp. If you're on the move a lot, banging around, etc., dumping a lot of $$ into a vid camera might not be a wise move. I've had mine in the shop a few times now.
