Opinions wanted

Post by RCampbell » May 29th, 2013, 8:34 am

So this month has allowed me some really neat opportunities while walking washes. Nailing lighting in the dark is always a challenge and I have striven to achieve even lighting and decent exposure. Question, does the first image look overexposed? I ask as it was one of the last images I tool of this incidence, and I felt the second image was underexposed.
Thank you for your time and opinions.

Looks like the white balance needs some tweaking to me.

It's not overexposed, if it looks a little hot it's nothing a minor levels adjustment won't fix. Good job with the lighting on natural behavior. Usually if I'm lighting something, any hope of it behaving naturally goes out the window- though I did once move a longnose off the road as it was eating a whiptail and it never stopped gobbling.

Agreed.

Check your histogram.

I kind of think you need to lower your contrast or at least highlights and shadows (and darks).
