memory card problem

Post by hellihooks » June 24th, 2014, 11:50 am

Bought a new memory card, to use in my Nikon P-80, but when I go to download the pics through my HP Photosmart printer... the printer does not even recognize that the card is in the slot. do I need to somehow format the memory card? thx... Jim

Could it be that the card is beyond the capabilities of the printer? Some older devices can't use SDHC or SDXC cards.
If it can't it might be worth looking for firmware upgrades for the printer to see if that capability has been added?

Or you could connect the camera directly to the computer and print that way.

Could be... they are both Sun Disc's but the new one is 8 gb and the old one was just 512mg... which i don't even think they make that small anymore. I haven't used the direct hookup for years... and it might take me years to find the cord... i'm terribly organizationally challenged... thx anyways... :thumb: jim
