Yet another which do you prefer threads.

Post by Chad M. Lane » May 11th, 2011, 10:45 pm

Seems many of us need some help in which photo do you prefer over another. Well I have another one.

This is the one I seem to lean towards, but my fiance prefers #2.

1 looks over processed to me.

Thanks everyone.

Justin: May I ask what looks over processed in #1 vs #2? and what looks over processed? I applied no sharping, I bump the color, maybe added a little to much saturation (I tend to do that).

Please explain your statement. It'll be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Chad

I like #1 due to the snakes head being just a little elevated, but I see no difference between the two in regards to post processing.

Pretty subtle difference between the images, but I prefer #2. I think the juxtaposition of the snake's head with the sharp curve in it's body immediately behind draw's the viewer's attention up the neck to the eye a bit more readily.

The positioning is a little better in number 1, but number 2 is a better photograph because you had a lower angle and therefore caught more of the "personality" of the animal.

#2 because the head is framed better (and is at a better angle for determining the shape of the head) and, as someone pointed out, the lower angle gives it a bit more life.

Chad,

The head and eye look off like when I've overdone the photoshopping. Sorry if that's not the case but 1 looks off to me.

#2, but either way, great shots of a difficult to photograph snake.

I prefer #2... better angle on the head. Very nice looking coach!

For whatever it's worth, from a hack, I prefer #2. (I agree with: lower angle = more personality.)
