Check out the new guide edited by Scott Shupe!

Rob Schell and I both have a couple photos in the guide.

I have a few military snake guides. I'm under impressed by them though. Pictures can be nice, but the text has some really issues in the ones I've got already. Have your browsed this book? Does it meet any standards?

Sorry for the long delay in response Justin - I've been busy and wanted to take a more thorough look through before responding.

I find the book to be informative and interesting. The info is basic - meant to help US amphibious forces id species they may potentially encounter. There are range maps for every species discussed and a quick identification. A dichotomous key to the families of snakes is listed at the beginning, but one would need to grab a hold of the snake to use the key. There is at least one photo per species/subspecies discussed which can be helpful. I would have liked to have seen more photos for each variably species - but it is completely understandable, the limits of a guide and available resources.

Funny that error... I checked it and it's a pretty glaring mistake.
