book ideas for christmas

Post by axeman2729 »

I am looking for ideas to give my dad for christmas gifts for me, and I was told on my other thread that books would be a good idea. What are some good books?

Obviously, the answer to that depends on your father's interests. If he's interested in Honduran milk snakes, for example, the new Mong/Tintle book on hondurans would be a fantastic gift. If your dad's interest is in amphiumas, then not so much.

Check out this thread: http://www.fieldherpforum.com/forum/vie ... 16&t=16277

As already mentioned, it really does depend on what you're looking to read... but there are a lot of great books in that thread... I could add another 15 if interested and can't find anything of worth in the thread, but I doubt you won't

Harry Greene has a new book out "Tracks and Shadows". I'm going to ask for it for Christmas.

I love these 3 titles from FHF members:
A Cobra Hijacked My Camera Bag by Hans Breuer
A Field Guide to the Snakes of Southern Florida by Josh Holbrook
Postcards from Turtle Island by Mike Pingleton

I think I still have 4-5 copies of Hubb's Rattlesnake book available. I'd sell them to you (or anyone else) for $12+postage. Checks, Paypal, or credit cards are fine.

That would be the old version without the other 3 venomous snakes in it Breck, but $12 is a good deal for that book AND it's out of print now. :thumb:
