2012: Warblers etc

2012 was a pretty great bird year for me. This year's focus was warblers, so I figured I'd post some highlights from that aspect of my year.

Some beautiful warblers on show there. Super photographs - cheered up a gloomy day in England.

Nice collection! You should do sparrows and finches this year - should be a great year for it.

On a more somber note, I think your Chat is actually an immature Prairie.

Dave already set the terms of this year's competition. Its an all around type deal.

That's a much better view, thanks. The plumage on your bird does superficially resemble Chat, but you always have to go with form over plumage as an ID cue. Chat will never have a small, pointy, bicolored bill. It still looks to me like a dully marked immature Prairie.
