I didn't find it, but took a detour on my way to work. Usually I only see hens here in the winter.

Awesome ducks! Both species. I saw my first and only King last fall, but it was a female on Lake Erie. I still would go out of my way to see a male (and the rest of the eiders).

Any eiders are automatically cool.

I've only ever seen Commons since you have to get cold to see Eiders generally. I don't do cold birds.

Strangely, there are three eider records for Texas - 2 Kings and 1 Common. I didn't see any of them.
