Re: New Data Request - May 8, 2012
This request was amended a few hours after it went live. Since the additional species were added so early on in the process, I do not believe there is a need to start a second request for it.
Re: New Data Request - May 8, 2012
Nature Nate caught this one..
She as this listed San Diego Horned Lizard- Phrynosoma coronatum blainvillii
And it doesn't match ours.. Can we add the coast lizards?
Thanks

I added records for Phrynosoma blainvillii to the request when I first set it up.

Don
Can you do that Forest service boundry layer, she mentioned...also, a 5 mi buffer layer would be really sweet.

give us a Ca Co. map with Forestry areas? If I understood her offer right. 5 mile buffer would be nice, if not too hard... jim

Re: New Data Request - May 8, 2012
I suspect that she could provide the shapefiles to make a map in QGIS (or other GIS programs) if someone asked her.

I sent her an email already to ask for them.
Re: New Data Request - May 8, 2012
Someone (I can once back home if needed) should then export from qgis to kml so people can see the map on google earth.Chris Smith wrote:I suspect that she could provide the shapefiles to make a map in QGIS (or other GIS programs) if someone asked her.

Don,
Many members of our chapter have added GPS, entries, and some went to the forest this past week to get more data.
Can you rerun the whole batch, to add these other records, before sending it off?
Thanks In Advance

Re: New Data Request - May 8, 2012
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! Everyone, get your records updated before there are releases. Redoing the batch to add them all is not always fun, especially with a bigger number of species.
But yes, I will add the new records before this goes to a vote. I am going to wait to add them though in case other people need to add some as well.

Re: New Data Request - May 8, 2012
We are working on getting things updated.
Some people sat on records, and got excited by the request. and entered it..
How much time do we have?
Also appox how much work is it for you to rerun it?
The reason I ask is hopefully, she will be willing to except "new" records every year or so from us, and it makes sense to only send the new ones to her not the whole batch of previously given records.
Thoughts?

PS As always THANK YOU for your efforts..

Re: New Data Request - May 8, 2012
Waiting to get the GIS file, but she gave me this for now

I will not add any records once the request is open for a vote. How much time do we have?
I have a form that look like the search form, but has check boxes for me to choose to add records to a request. Just a matter of going over each species, and searching for the records that apply. In the future, I hope to be able to add criteria, and have it run the queries automatically to add records, and even possibly, allow the person requesting data to set the search criteria. Also appox how much work is it for you to rerun it?

If the above files and images aren't enough for anyone, let me know, and I can generate other maps.Hi Don-
I was reminded that we have public GIS data files available. At this link: http://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/r5/landma ... RDB5327833 the layer for forest boundaries is the second in the list, Administrative National Forest Boundaries.
Re: New Data Request - May 8, 2012
Our group will be done DATA entering Friday morning Don.
So you can rerun it at anytime thereafter.
Thanks for your efforts.

Crud. No. I got the email telling me to open it for voting, but I haven't had a chance yet to add the additional records that people added or modified after the initial request. I will do that now, and you should get your email shortly.
Re: New Data Request - May 8, 2012
No rush, just wanted to make sure I didn't miss it.
Thanks you
