Annual Visit

Post by kyle loucks »

Though I have been coming to Florida for vacation with my family for the past 20 years, I have never visited the southeastern corner. This year, we will be staying in Pompano Beach the week of July 21st to 27th. I like to visit any parks in the area and I will get out at least one or two nights by myself.
It would be great to meet some of you in person, if not to herp, just to say helllo. So if anyone is willing, it would be great to get out with any of you.
For those who do not know me, I served as president of the Northeast Chapter for its first 5 years and have herped with some great herpers from across our community. I.e. Bill Love, Eitan Grunwald, Tim Warfel, Jonathan Hakim, Bob Ferguson and the rest of the Northeast clan, et al.

Thanks
Kyle

Your bound to have a good time there Kyle.
Hope you have better luck than us with the weather.
I'm actually in Florida now and tropical storm Debby is putting a serious damper on our stay.
Went out once when it wasn't nuts out and scored two large and pretty corns.
We also got a fat little Florida water and a lifer scarlet king.

This damned rain will not let up for anything. :(
We planed to hit the Peace river for fossils but the day after we arrived it went from a workable 3' to 14'.
Ok Venice beach for fossiling?
Nope roads are closed due to flooding. I'm not going anywhere near flooded roads these days.
Thanks Debby.

Even paid $60 in advance for two 7 day non- resident fishing licenses that may expire before the rain stops.
Going back out in the storm tonight to see what if anything is moving.
Hope you have better luck on your trip.
Mike.

Good luck, Kyle.

Hey, Mike,
If you hang around after the storm it can get pretty good with displaced reptiles and amphibians having wild loud parties at night!
