Roll call for NAFHA Snake Rd.

Post by Josh Holbrook »

I don't know if anyone posted something like this already (I know there's one on Facebook, but not everyone uses it); Who's planning on being at the NAFHA trip in October? I know there's upwards of 30 people planning on going, but I'd imagine we'll end up with even more than that.

I know I'll be there.

-Josh

EDIT: I think fence-sitters should also post here so you can be properly mocked and harangued into coming

Unfortunately, my dream of getting to snake road will have to wait. Funds won't allow me to make it this year.

Unless anyone going from TX is driving and wants to take me along for the ride

I'll have to look at whether my schedule would match up, but perhaps a carpool option could be in the works...just asked Krull about that possibility.

I'd ask some of the herpers in your area, seems like a big group from all over, so you might luck out.

Start selling some Knight Anoles to pet shops or something. . .

Already looks like a good group. It'll be sweet to get to meet a lot of folks and catch some fun critters.

Here's a link to more info on the event for all you fence-sitters:

http://www.pingleton.com/NAFHA2012/

At this point we have 30-plus people coming from all points of the compass. I think a few more posted here but their responses were lost in the mini-crash.

I will be there. I'm interested if anyone will be traveling further than me, miles wise. I understand people are driving double digit hours will spend more time traveling, but from my driveway to The pond parking lot is ~2300 miles if you were to drive, not sure about distance as the crow (or the plane I'll be on) flies.

Rough count as of 9/10 is forty attendees. A couple of them are pretty good field herpers, I'm told.

I am looking at flights, It is so tempting but I do not have a ride from the airport there, then snake road to the airport. Hell, as of right now I don't even have the money.

Our Arkansas Herp Society fall survey/field trip is happening the same weekend unfortunately. I don't think anyone from down here will be making it, as much as we'd like to.

posting which days/times you'd need to be at the airport and which airport would help open doors for you. before I decided to rent a car for Mack and myself flying together from Seattle, I posted my flight times and within an hour had a ride to the airport lined up... I'd recommend a separate thread so this can still be used as a simple roll call of attendees.

Well if I took the train ( if it does happen train is most likely) I would get on at the Philidelphia station on the 4th at 2:16 PM and get to Carbondale at 9:45 PM on the 5th. And leave on the 7th at 7:00 PM. I just wish I could drive, and that I didn't spend all my money!

Edit: Wrong time

I will be there and have heard rumors that someone will be making his famous blueberry pancakes. Looking forward to seeing everyone. If the critters are moving, with all this talent, we can't help but see lots of stuff. This year I am hoping to see a mudsnake as well as score the hat trick on vipers. We'll see what the universe brings us.

Peter don't worry you and I always have the best time herping. I think the universe will bring us the trifecta, but it's too late in the year to make the vipers of Illinois complete.

No kidding?

I'm just poking fun EJ, I've never really had much interaction with you and although I prefer herping in an area with one or two other people and not seeing anyone else for miles, a big draw to this trip for me is meeting people face to face that I feel like I've "known" for years from this forum. Too bad you can't make it
