Herping Eastern Washington (Sssss)

Post by socalherper »

I took my annual trip to Clarkston, Washington from Southern California to visit family. I spent 3 evenings herping areas I suspected should wield snakes. They were there.. :thumb:
I also did some fishing in the Snake River and caught a few small mouth bass.
It was warm herping weather in the mid 70’s.

My totals were:
1 live and huge Night Snake (Hypsiglena torquata)
5 live Pacific gopher snakes (Pituophis catenifer)
4 DOA Pacific gopher snakes (Pituophis catenifer)
5 Live Northern pacific rattlesnakes (Crotalus viridus oregonus)
5 DOA Northern pacific rattlesnakes (Crotalus viridus oregonus)
1 DOA Western terrestrial garter snake (Thamnophis elegans)

It was a good time. I saw many Deer, family of River Otter, Owls, Hawks, Osprey coyotes.

Wow Tony,
that Night is a beast... Never seen one with a head and jaws like that... I'm guessing...what... a third larger than the next biggest one you've ever seen? Damn... that would be like finding a 6 ft rosy...    jim
