I have been fortunate to have some generous members show me there areas the past two weekends. Tamara has show off last weekend well, though I will add some pics that were highlights for me. The previous weekend Matt took me out where among other things we found the P.ventralis. Here are some pics.

Hypo/Amel N.Spring Peeper. This is one of those finds when you have been a breeder for so many years that you only see dollar signs upon capturing one. It was released at site of capture. A new camera would have been a nice new purchase for a single frog though.

Thanks to Matt,Tamara and Raymond for two great weekends.

Come back any time, Chris. We had a blast.
Love your photos of the P. obsoletus and the peeper. The purple wildflowers are cool, too.
Congrats again on Kim & Sugar's dog show success.

I don't see them often either James. But I'm impressed if that is typical for you guys. It had dark ruby eyes, no dark melanin and only a hint of brown. Hypo by description for most, but what do I know. The herp industry has missed out on a flashy population if it is typical. Samuel I will keep you in mind for next time. And I will take you up on that Tamara.

James: The peeper was in no way like the ones I've seen in this area; the coloration and transparency didn't come through on the photo all that well. You could sort of see through the skin and the typical dorsal x pattern showed up as a dimly florescent negative, which didn't show up in the pic at all.

Put your wallet away dollarsigns, if that peeper was amelanistic it wouldn't have black pupils.

The eyes weren't black, dark ruby. My phone did the animal no justice. James, your juvie does look the same. Despite the abberancy it blended in well with the leaflitter at the locale.

I second that.

I even like the crispness of the...um, flowers. (Phones have that "gain" thing going on and I actually prefer the look of landscapes and habitat shots they produce...honest.)

Looks like a good time with good people.
