Ophiophagus dessertii

Post by TravisK »

Last year my son wanted a rattlesnake cake.

This year he said he wanted a Cobra Cake, I hesitantly agreed.

It's a little on the sloppy side, but at the end of the night it's going to look a lot worse.

Travis, I think I am more impressed with this than the rattlesnake, even though the crote was "cleaner" this is seriously cool. Nice job.

Yeah, I shouldn't start these things so late. I finished this thing just before 3am.

Cool cake! But that's more like a Spectacled cobra, not a King cobra, so it would be Naja not Ophiophagus. :)

It is a play on the Latin word 'phagus: : eater : one that eats an indicated thing or in an indicated way' and dessertii is just a fun way to refer to cake or dessert. ;)

Travis,

That is amazing! You have some serious skill in making cakes. Wow!

What is the gray, clay-like stuff you used to sculpt the snake?

Thanks guys, it's fun to let my cakes live on in the internets.

Fil, it is homemade fondant. Most fondant taste really gross too, but mine is super yummy!
