May Milkathon!
Post 1-2 pictures of every Eastern Milk you have found in 2013. June 3rd, 11:59 is the cutoff. This isn't a contest to see who finds the most. This is a simple, look-how-nice-my-milk-is contest. It's totally subjective and fun. Let's see who can find the nicest Eastern Milk.
If you post a Coastal, you are automatically disqualified and labeled a braggart.
Post 'em as you find 'em. And label them. Example: your username and a number in order of your find - brick911,#1 or sstaedtler,#48. That way we can do a fun vote on them at the end.

They're scarce down here, but if you extend contest until June 11 I'll be able to participate.
Looking forward to seeing some pretties from you all.
Tim

Re: May Milkathon!
I used to find a lot of milks at one of my spots in North-Central PA, but that turned into a gas well last summer, so as of now I'm out of places to find them. Other than that one spot, they seem to just turn up randomly like mountain earth snakes. I never really expect to find them, but I'm happy when I do. I'm in the same boat as Tim, I probably won't get a chance to find one until June.

Re: May Milkathon!
Have you checked that area since? Its really bad in the counties I herp here in WV. Ive yet to go looking around on the cleared areas for pipeline but I do hear of reports of rattlers in one area. Hopefully they havent all been killed off.The Jake-Man wrote:I used to find a lot of milks at one of my spots in North-Central PA, but that turned into a gas well last summer, so as of now I'm out of places to find them. Re: May Milkathon!
I've been back to the area, but I didn't find any snakes. The small area where I used to find them got bulldozed and covered with gravel. One interesting thing I've noticed though, is that the immediate areas around wells that have been capped for a few years seem to be great places to find snakes. There's usually plenty of junk like boards or sheet metal, and the borders of the clearings often have rock piles where the hillside was bulldozed flat. Same thing with pipeline cuts, they give snakes a canopy opening to bask in.

Not a Northeasterner but I hope you don't mind if I post here...
These are mostly L.t.t with a very small amount of syspila influence, but you wouldn't know by looking at them.

If you don't count me in the contest I'm fine with that.

Re: May Milkathon!
Zach, I have to agree with a few others. That's probably the best milk that's gonna be posted, however you are out of are chapter range and stated it could have syspila influence.
If I'm counting out coastals, I have to count out red intergrades.
Please feel free to keep adding stuff to the thread. I love when out-of-towner's contribute here. It's really just eye candy anyway. There is no prize.

Re: May Milkathon!
I have an early vote for saglines #3 being the most unique. That's a whole bunch of white on that snake!

Re: May Milkathon!
Should separate babies from adults too... just sayin. And Andrea, kinda like that you are a girl.
Re: May Milkathon!
I agree. I say we just keep posting them no matter how good looking they are or ugly and we can have a bunch of different categories, all for fun. Ugliest, most unique, best looking baby, best looking adult, etc.kyle loucks wrote:Should separate babies from adults too... just sayin. And Andrea, kinda like that you are a girl.

Re: May Milkathon!
I'm entering this guy in hopes of a booby prize! This poor fella... I thought he was dead... he looked all dark and oily. Only when he moved did I realize he wasn't a former snake.

Bad coloring, lots of battle scars and an unshed noggin. Where do I pick up my prize?
