I love your finds. Both the bullsnake and the canadian toad are species that have stumped me despite how common they are.
FYI, the boreal toad probably isn't actually moving East. There has been a "central swath" in the province where both species have been present. The Canadian toad seems to be more picky when it comes to habitat needs, and declines sooner as humans encroach. The Elk Island example is highly questionable as to it's original toad sightings and identifications.
