It has recently come to my knowledge I've narrowly missed some worthwhile herpetological gatherings;
I was a mere 100 miles from the Biology of the Pitvipers Symposium stewing about how I've read all the herp literature I own and wished there was something else to read.
I learned about the International Herpetological Symposium from my friend's Facebook page after it had already started.
And not that I would have gone to it but the World Congress of Herpetology was hosted in Vancouver last year, the first time its been in North America during the last 25 years. I would have at least liked the option.
Is there a comprehensive list of such events or links to them? And/or is there anything coming up in the future I shouldn't miss?
Thanks!
Terry

Re: List of Herpetological events: symposiums, conferences,
Thank you Robert!
I've marked my calendar for next year's Biology of Pitvipers Symposium. The German Herpetoculture meeting would be great. I like to see how European interests manifest themselves in our industry. I especially like the emphasis on natural vivaria that seems popular there. Maybe next year!

Re: List of Herpetological events: symposiums, conferences,
The Midwest Herpetological Symposium is August 31-Sept. 3 in Peoria, Illinois
This is a great weekend of herp education with an auction, live animal sale, banquet, and field herping. This event has been going for decades and is one of the longest running events of its kind.
It is hosted this year by the Central Illinois Herp Society. Here's their website: http://centralillinoisherp.com/
Next year it will be held in Indianapolis in October.

Definitely going to the DGHT meeting next month. I'm so glad I caught wind of it before it went down. Thanks so much Robert!

The MidWest Herp Symposium is at the end of month. I'll see if I can dig up the information on it.
