2014 Elections ....

Post by Biker Dave »

Hey All

Its that time of year again....

We will need volunteers to fill the positions of:

President
Vice President
Secretary
Education Specialist
Conservation Specialist

In the immortal words of President Lyndon Baines Johnson ...
"I will not seek nor will I accept the nomination of my (fellow chapter members) as
your President"

Yep thats right, I will not be seeking re-election as an officer in the Arizona Chapter in 2014. I will be using the opportunity to spend more time with my family and close friends.

Therefore, we need others to step up and take the reins and steer this chapter into the future.

As these are volunteer positions, you can do as much, or as little, as you choose. The only requirement is that you fulfill the requirements as set forth in the ByLaws. Other than that, its wide open!

Here is the link to the By Laws ... http://www.nafha.org/bylaws

I appreciate everyone's support and assistance over the past three years and am honored to have been able to serve as your President.

Could you possibly leave some bigger shoes to fill, Dave? You've done an exemplary job of representing our chapter. I'd hate to do it but, if forced to make that decision, I'd go with Ben, Monty, or Chris Meachum. I think Terry's a great guy, but herping and life, in general, have claimed most of his time. I admire his situation (as well as his herping prowess...), but doubt his ability to commit to Presidency. I understand that my opinion will come across as biased, but Ben is probably the best candidate for the job. Unless Brian Hubbs or Kris Haas would care to step up, but I'm not sure that I'd put much faith in that....(It's not your writing or your photos, guys. I've just noticed that you're kind of hit-or-miss on the boards....)

If I had my ultimate choice, Ben, Terry, and Monty would stay where they are. (Sorry, Benny, but we both know there are herping superheroes associated with this chapter..) The only change I would make is Brian hubbs or Kris Haas as President, schedules and life situations permitting, of course...Chris Meachum would also be an excellent choice, but I understand why that's probably not an option...Dave, you'll always have my respect and admiration as the leader of the best group of herpers that I've ever met....

Sorry for what? I don't mind being vp again, but I have no desire to be the pres. As you know I plan on herping my butt off next year, and I doubt I'll have the time to give the forum the attention it deserves.

Dave, what happened to your avatar?

BTW, I have no desire to be president again. As a matter of fact, I'd like a year off from having any responsibility. Hopefully, there'll be enough volunteers to run the Chapter. If not, we can still enter data.

PS: I'll be gone Nov. 1st thru Nov 8th. Back to MI for family duties.

Best to all....TC

I still see my avatar on my end.... is it not showing to everyone else?

Josh - Thanks for the kind words.

I think Monty Wilkinson should step up and give So AZ rep going this year!
