Regarding the corn snake-yes, I do have another pic of it, but it's not really any better than that one. RE pygmy rattlers-I hadn't seen one in AL since 1996 or so, but this year I decided to target them for some reason, and was able to find one little pocket of habitat where they are still pretty common. They have declined a lot in this state from what I have read.
2013 turned out to be a strange year-good diversity of species, but low numbers, especially for usually abundant species like racers, Nerodia, and box turtles.

I dug up a pic of a similar looking corn snake from last year. I rarely find them, but I think this is a typical look for this area.
