Here's a photo of a racer that really surprised me. This is not what they are supposed to look like in the area I saw it. The overall olive color, and the sky blue on the neck were both quite surprising. I have not seen another from the same area to compare with, but the field guides sure don't match. Anyone care to guess where this racer was? Or tell me where you'd expect to see similar ones? I'll reveal the general area after folks have offered some ideas and opinions.

Looks pretty similar to racers in my area, which is an intergrade zone between foxii and priapus.

Looks like a northwest Ohio Blue Racer.

It is typical of Mississippi Valley Coluber constrictor latrunculus intergrades with C. c. priapus. Snakes of that color pattern occur from southern Louisiana to the lower Ohio River Valley.

You nailed it Jeff. I really thought I was in buttermilk country in Tensas Parish but I guess the snakes don't read the range maps, do they?

I saw one in that area (actually I think it was Concordia Parish), and it was solid black from what I remember.

Looks like a Racer from Peoria and Tazewell county Illinois. I find blue ones on the levees of the Illinois river commonly.
