It with sadness I report that we've lost a great person, who was much, much more than just a great herper, Carl Koch. I didn't know him. But he was top of the list of those I wished I did.

You might recall him from his incredible posts on hognose nesting behavior, or perhaps, as I do, from his passion for his new-found rubber boas. Either way, a kindred spirit whose light extended way beyond herping and music, is gone way too soon. He would have illuminated our herping discussions for decades to come.

I only knew Carl from the Midwest Chapter Forum, but he will be missed. Very sad to lose another great one.
