Herping in Michigan's Upper Peninsula

Post by johngphillips » July 2nd, 2014, 2:42 pm

I am going to be camping and fishing in the U.P. next week. Is there anybody who has any good herping spots? In particular I am interested in Fox Snakes, Chorus Frogs and Mudpuppies.

Thanks!

Sorry, haven't been up there in over 15 years. Some neat things to be seen though. Good luck.

where in the U.P.?

fox snakes are doable. just look for meadow-type habitat. edges are always a good bet. if in farm country, flip the rock piles that farmers have set in the fence row. not too familiar with the ranges of the frog and puppy. your guess is as good as mine.
