Snakes and Agamids from South-east Asia - ID help

Post by Kongi » March 14th, 2015, 11:32 am

Hallo,
could you please help me with identification of these reptiles. I took many pictures during my trip to SE Asia, majority of them I managed to identify, but I feel quite ashamed that I´m not able to to do that with these quite spectacular species. I´m unsure with several more species of skinks, but it could be more acceptable than snakes :).
I did my best, but I´m far from sure. They are four species, dead snake has two pictures (3a, 3b).

Thank you very much for your suggestions.

Petr

1 from Malaysia, Penang NP
2 from Laos, Champasak
3 and 4 from Malaysia, Cameron Highlands

Give me a few days and Grismer's Lizards of Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore and Their Adjacent Archipelagos will arrive, and I should be able to confirm the lizard IDs. I really can't wait for his snake and amphibian volumes on the region (and the second edition of the lizard book, all of which are in the works).

I had to do a double take because I have kept them and I think you are correct. I am assuming this one is a juvenile.

Great! Thank you very much for your help:), I can´t wait to check them in an atlas. I´d be very happy to get a feedback from Gene after receiving that amazing book.
My snake guess was some Macrocalamus, but I couldn´t find any species, that would suit my pictures well enough.
