ATL GA herping 2015

Post by HerpMan ATL » March 28th, 2015, 7:40 pm

My plan was to begin my herping early this year with a trip to the Everglades back in February. Planes tickets and everything paid for.
Well that didn't happen. My brother, who was going with me, got iced in, in Tennessee the day before we were to leave. Goods new is we both got vouchers on the plane tickets so were going. Just gotta decide when. Probably this summer or September, when I have time off from work.
But anyway after that little piece of bad luck, I still have managed a good start to the year. Im was ahead of last year anyway, which was my first year back into herp hunting. Here a little photo run down of what's happened so far.

First reptile of the year. A cute little Anole I flipped under a rock. Not sure he ever even woke up.

Snake #6... Bigger Rat Snake, easily over 5 feet long in a tree at eye level right behind me while photographing the first Rat Snake. The birds gave this one away. They were dive bombing him.

North Georgia has some beautiful country. I always wanted to find a Pine Snake from that region but never did. The pics of all the ones I have seen were of beautiful animals. Have you seen any up there?
