New guy introduction and pics from the mojave!

Post by mark buck »

discovered this forum last year and figured its about time I posted some
pics of my own. I've been into herps(especially reptiles) since my childhood
and some recent trips have re-sparked my passion! I don't keep herps in captivity,
but like everyone else on here I love encountering them out in the field.
here's a few of my favorite pictures from 2 different weekends in the mojave last summer.
all pictures taken with a canon powershot.

some lizards to start...

desert iguana

zebra-tail hanging out under a creosete bush

big chuckwalla, any guesses on what happened to his tail?

another chuck

male great basin collared

female found nearby

some snakes...

walking snakes at night sure gets the blood flowing
Image

speckled rattlesnake
Image

rosy boa

yours truly, classic photo op

back home, found this alligator lizard crawling around,
really like the pattern on him

thanks for lookin!

Beautiful animals and photos, all of them really nice..

The Chuckwalla's tail looks like it was mutilated/partially gloved in a predator mishap but its on the mend. Shedding consecutively after injury in a pieced, accentuated pattern is normal, often starting at the injured site.
