Pretty ribbon. Striped Coral Snake (Calliophis intestinalis) playing dead, again. They are really good at this! Highly venomous. Malaysia.

He-he, I think I met some of those specimens last month ;) . Will post a report here once I've got the IDs sorted as much as possible. It was great meeting you, Kurt. Keep up the good work & thanks! BTW, are you sure that's not A. vertebralis instead of lasgalenensis? If yes, how can you tell?

Awesome selection, Kurt! Looks like things are really picking up around this time of year, these are some really rare species. I love the Calamaria lovii, I assume from montane forest? The Amphiesma sanguineum is also great! I can't wait to come back...

Thanks, Rupert. Yeah, I think the snake season is back! No snakes the past couple of months and then 2 or 3 per night the last two trips.

Yes, both the C. lovii and A. sanguineum are from montane forest in Pahang.

Wow....again. That coral is awesome looking. Daytime find? Love the blue showing through on the viper. So jealous.
