12 Oriental Whips in an hour

Post by LouB747 »

Found a bunch or O Whips as well as P Bronzebacks within a short period of time and distance. 2 Mating. Here's a quick video showing how close a few of them were.

During onset of monsoons, I know few places in Sahyadris which can easily top this off. Apart from large number of A. nasutas, I get to see large numbers of bamboo pit vipers(T. gramineus) here. Nice finds by the way especially the mating one.

Thanks guys. Video was taken in Singapore. I don't live there, but travel there once every few months for a day or two. This was the craziest night I've had as far as numbers go. I believe the total was 12 O Whips and 4 P Bronzys. Also some water snakes. Funny, it took me months to see my first O Whip. Go figure.

Nice one, Lou. Always fun to see these beautiful snakes. All prasina's and no mycterizans, no fasciolata?

Thanks. Yeah, all Prasina. I have yet to see the other whips. I believe there are considered rare in Singapore.

Prasina's are more common and can be found at the edge of the forest/jungle. You'll have to go deeper in to find mycterizans and fasciolata. I found my mycterizans right next to a stream.

Yeah, I've heard that. I have different plans for my next Singapore trip. Unfortunately, I don't know exactly when that will be. Hopefully June. I'm also hoping for a possible Hong Kong stay where there is a lot of other stuff to be found! That Big Eye is awesome!
