Yesterday while trekking around Sahyadris, I came across my first Common Cat snake. Like Coral snakes(Calliophis sp.) I have been very unlucky with this species, till yesterday I have only found roadkills of these (some were huge sized snakes). Apart from this cat snake(Boiga trigonata) I also found 1 Common Sand boa(Gongylophis conicus), 1x Red Sand Boa(Eryx johnii) (one of my friends accidentally stepped on this snake and got bit on leg), 1x Russells viper(Daboia russelli) - a 5 footer snake.
Here are pics of the Boiga trigonata:

Edit: forgot to add, we came across this snake as there was a commotion outside a house in the village and decided to check it out. This snake had taken up residence inside the thatched roof and the owner of the house was about to kill it thinking it was a venomous Saw scaled viper.
