Have You Viewed Cooperative Garter Hunting Behavior?

Post by bradlyb »

I remember seeing a video around here a couple of years back or so. I am trying to locate it for a professor of mine at UCSC, and proposing to do some research on this behavior.

Has anyone else witnessed this in the field? What species of garter? Any pictures, or videos?

Thanks,
Brad

Yes, 2 red-sided hunting small bullfrogs in shallow moss filled water. One would probe the bottom and when a frog got spooked, the other would give chase. I think that it is probably less of a cooperative behavior than maybe learned successful behavior.

I am working with both Barry Sinervo and Eric Palkovaks on various projects.
