Always good to see you, Barry, even if you are a birder.
Gorgeous black kings and salamanders from up north. Love that spotted sally shot. And am jealous about the cave salamander.
Your photos are wonderful.
Come back in September and we'll see if we can round up some pygmies.

Those Black Kings are awesome. I don't know what it is about that subspecies, but they have to be one of my favorite US snakes.

Gorgeous little calligaster.

Thanks for posting this. Sounds like you had a great trip.

Good for you, finding a "repatriated" indigo is something special. Was it found with telemetry or just searching out in field? It looks like it is having challenging time, its left eye, scars on body, etc. Was it pit tagged? If so, how old is it and how long has it been at liberty? What is the consensus on this project, do the Indigos seem to be established or doing well?

The mole king is spectacular, one of the most colorful I have ever seen. The blacks, and the milk snake are also impressive, you seemingly have a knack for finding and photographing the pretty ones.

Thanks for posting,

Vic

thanks again everyone,
VIC, the Indigo was found by Nick C., as I recall, during a NAFHA involved survey, he actually spotted it
just feet from a gopher tortoise burrow. It was a cloudy, cool day in March, so I'd say the animal had
been in the hole in cool weather for some time. I'm afraid I don't have many more details about that individual,
but I believe all participant snakes are "pit tagged". I recall last year some discussion that there is a male bias
in the specimens that are being found, why remains a mystery.
