Last weekend I joined my buddy Garrett for a weekend in ANF to chase after mole kings primarily. We struck out on getting a mole king but we had some pretty good success.
Friday night we got this scarlet king, only the second I've come across AOR in the forest.

Saturday morning we were treated to this large male eastern diamondback crossing the road. Only my second live diamondback from the forest for the year.

Then that night I was treated to a lifer, a queen snake, who was hanging out in a small tree to escape the swollen creeks current the tree was overhanging.

A rather large three-lined salamander that was crossing the road in the same area where the queen snake was. First time seeing one on a road. There were also a couple hanging out along the bank of the creek.

And just because I'm still so overjoyed about this snake, I'll share him again. Sorry, not sorry, haha.

I'll also share a habitat shot because I really like this one.
