First Week in Florida

Post by Tristan07 »

Hello all, I am new to the forum and the state of Florida and just wanted to introduce myself with a few finds from my first few outings near Tallahassee.
Immediately I noticed these Brown Anoles running all over the place

After a couple of trips to the ANF I came up with the following:

Of those 6 were lifers! Hopefully the success keeps coming however I only have a bike so as of now I can only reach so far.
Hope you enjoyed, I look forward to posting in the future

Tristan,

Welcome to the Forum and welcome to Florida! It's a great place to herp year-round. I envy you as you are in the most herpetologically diverse parts of the state. ANF probably has enough opportunities to keep you busy for a lifetime.

You have some very nice pics. You should be able to get a BB code link from Photobucket that you paste directly into the body of your post, instead of having to use the URL tags to link the photo. That way you can have it so that the URL doesn't show up. I don't use Photobucket, but I know that Flickr does that.

Nice pics! I've seen some stuff like the Gastrophryne carolinensis a lot here in Florida and on the forum, but I don't think I've ever seen any photographs of one from side-on like you did, nice angle :thumb:.

Welcome to the forums and welcome to Florida. Being in Tallahassee you can spend a lifetime there and still be turning up super cool critters. The ANF has some of the best herp species diversity in the state. There's just so much stuff to do outside where herps can be found in the Tallahassee area.

Good stuff. Winter is coming, so things might slow down a bit, but hold out until spring. ANF is awesome...
