Just a quick update of the last couple months, I haven't been out herping much but I have had some quality finds. Not much narrative here, but a quick trip up to the mountains produced some Timber Rattlesnakes and Northern Copperheads in early August.

In my last post, I found this yellow phase Timber stretched out in the open, and a few weeks later I found her tucked under this rock:

Late august produced my first Mole Kingsnake of the year (and my first since 2012). They are actually integrades in my area, and look it too.

I've been looking for Eastern Hognoses for about the last 4 years to no avail, so Kevin Messenger and I took a quick trip over to the Georgia sandhills hoping to find one. We were not let down and I finally got my lifer!

Here's one of several Eastern Coachwhips we flipped as well.

and today, just a few hours before posting this, I got my 2nd Mole Kingsnake in the past month! This one was in shed when I flipped it, and I noticed a piece of skin hanging from its mouth. With a little fanagling, I was able to help it shed out to reveal this stunning animal.

That's all for now! Thanks for looking.

I enjoyed looking!
It makes me feel sentimental about north America, to see posts like this. Man I love our snakes and our piece of earth.
