It would be awesome to take a day and go look for it, but with the canal network in that area, who knows where it is at this point. The sighting did get reported to sea turtle researchers at NOAA so getting it into the database would be more of a personal triumph.

There must be such an abundance of sea turtles now, they are expanding into fresh water territories. Next, they will be found in ranch ponds and Lake Tahoe.

The elevation of Manteca is 36 ft. (11 m.) I wonder if this is a new elevation record for the species.

They also found a dead one a few weeks earlier at Tiki Lagoon.

I can't find anything about the Tiki Lagoon turtle online. Did it get written up in a newspaper or posted online anywhere that you know of?
