Spotted Salamander Morphs
If any albino spotted salamanders or any other odd colored spotted salamanders are found then collect them and please contact me at [email protected]
Re: Spotted Salamander Morphs
You should probably introduce yourself and describe your project before asking people to collect animals for you sight unseen.

Im doing an individual study on genetic diversity and genetic abnormalities in spotted salamanders. So will do breeding on certain individuals to see the hereditary properties that they possess.

Whether people want to contact you privately is entirely up to them, but in general these boards are for the discussion of field herping and not collecting.
Re: Spotted Salamander Morphs
Agree with Cliff and Andrea about the collecting. FYI, there is a pretty extensive amount of information already out there regarding color variation in spotted salamanders as a response to xenobiotics and other environmental stressors.
Also, what do you mean by "individual study"?

Can't tell if you're trolling or not. If you aren't, keep in mind that many states in the north east have possession limits and rules about collecting wildlife, even non-endangered or listed ones.

I do want to make sure we give this person the benefit of the doubt here, and s/he just may not know the forum etiquette.
Kyle, that's a really good point about the limits and rules about collecting wildlife in the Northeast.
