2015 California Member of the Year=Jeff Nordland

Post by Fundad »

Lots of people deserve consideration and I personally thank everyone that contributed to our chapters ongoing events.

But I choose Jeff Nordland as this years member of the year.

Jeff has been tireless in his efforts for NAFHA this last year.

Thank You Jeff for all you do for me and our chapter.

Some, not all of the items Jeff helped with or lead.

The 2015 National Event
Ongoing USGS survey and other USGS work.
Ongoing Survey work with Fallbrook, the City of San Diego, and others.
Numerous Educational Events.
And more..

Thank You Jeff !

Jeff,

Thanks for your conservation efforts, legendary hospitality, and the many of the behind-the-scenes things you do that fly under many folks' radar. I can't think of anyone who deserves this recognition more... Powerful job, Jeff!

Yes, Brian couldn't have made a better pick.

If I may say this, what makes you unique and so effective, Jeff, is that you enjoy, and are good at, field herping tough places, night driving for hours on end, and checking out new, often remote localities, etc., all by yourself, but also organizing and leading groups, doing outreach work and organizing social events. I can't think of anyone here else who combines all of those qualities.

Thanks for all of your efforts!

'Rock Solid' choice! Having had the good fortune to meet him I can tell you personally he is truly motivated and there is action in his words. The number of projects he's been involved with would be overwhelming to most people. :thumb:

Wow, what a nice surprise - thank you everyone!!

It means a lot to me to be recognized and appreciated for the efforts I've made. However, I'd be remiss not to say: I couldn't have done nearly as much without the support of my generous and loving wife Lilian. Best wife ever!

Brian - It must have been a tough decision considering how much guys like Lawrence, Matt, Keith, and Nicholas did last year. I know that Lawrence put in a lot of time in support of the National Meeting, surveys in the Bay Area, and the HERP database. Meanwhile, Matt, Keith, Nicholas (with help from Robert of course), and others spent a ton of time collecting data and entering it into HERP, as well as helping with surveys and events in So. Cal. From what I can tell so far, seems like there will be many members deserving recognition this year.

Let's make 2016 another great year for the CA Chapter!

Cheers,

Jeff
