Advice for new visitors to this forum

Post by Brian Hubbs » February 28th, 2016, 11:13 am

Do not ask for locations of where to see herps in AZ.
Do not ask how to find herps in AZ.
We will not tell you.
We want you here, but not just to ask a question and then disappear.
If you want to find Az herps, read some books, then go find them on your own.
We've been burned by poachers and thoughtless newbies who don't know what they are doing and destroy habitat and collect too many animals.
If you want to join us for the long haul...fine.
If you just want quicky info, go away...

I think that about sums it up...

Wow Brian, don't hold back, tell us how you really feel

I think it should be said for all those would be advice seekers who read this, that while Brian's sentiment is shared by most people here, it's not shared by all. By all means feel free to ask questions. Just be ready to receive more negative feedback than advice.

And Brian, telling people that we don't want them here isn't really going to help our chapter any. :)

Hubbs can't run for AZ Chapter President - he's not a "natural born AZ citizen"
He's an invasive from CA!

OK, I changed one line...we do want new people here...just not the one-time question askers who never even thank us for advice.
