Hi Everyone,
I'd like to schedule a survey at the Fallbrook Land Conservancy for Saturday, April 2nd, from 9 am - 5 pm. If the soil is moist under rocks, then we can target night snakes and black-headed snakes, which have never been recorded in the FLC. If it's warm and dry, then we can look for coast patch-nosed snakes and horned lizards. We have a new parcel of land to survey, so even a gopher snake or a So. Pac. rattlesnake would be a good find.
Please let me know if you're interested in attending. You don't have to commit for the whole day. Any amount of time that you'd like to spend helping out would be much appreciated.
I'll send details via PM to those who plan to attend.
For more information about the FLC, please visit their website: http://www.fallbrooklandconservancy.org/
Thanks!
Jeff

Glad you can make it Daniel! It will be good to see you again.
Jim: plenty of laurel sumac grows on Monserate Mtn. Preserve, as you well know. The new parcel of land I mentioned has much less sumac, but still some around. Hopefully we will make a few good finds even without your help going forward. Your past contributions to the FLC survey efforts are certainly appreciated!

Jeff,
As much as Nicholas and I would like to go, we unfortunately won't be able to make it on April 2. Hopefully next time will work out again.
Best of luck with the survey!

Hi Jeff,
I may be able to go. How harsh is the hiking? I'm healing from knee surgery but I can comfortably do some hilly area, just not hard hiking.

Robert and Nicholas - we'll miss you guys this time. And our photos will probably pale in comparison to those you've taken at FLC in the past
Boston Chris - honestly, these surveys invariably entail rather strenuous hiking. I do not recommend doing it while still recovering from surgery. You and I can visit a Preserve and then go flip some boards (on mostly flat ground) some other time if you like.
