Wild Sidewinder Morph

Post by DallasJolly123 »

It's been a little while since my last post and I've been wanting to share some of my spring encounters. Unfortunately the laptop I save all my photos on has taken a crap on me and it wont power up or hold a charge which really sucks. At this time I have very few photos on my new laptop but I wanted to share a cool find from the other night. Last Friday I met up with some friends and headed out to Kern County for the night. It was not a great night but we saw several snakes including this 80% striped Sidewinder which some of you may have seen on instagram already. Really exciting encounter!

There was another found/posted but it only had a small amount of striping on the neck if I remember correctly (1-3 in maybe). I saw the pic awhile back, so hard to remember. Not sure of the sub

Awesome find :thumb: :thumb:

Wheew (sigh of relief), now I can wipe that one off the list

Stripewinder sounds good to me!
My friend had one with a striped neck too but nothing like this. Somebody also sent me a picture of a leusictic yesterday that was cool looking.

I downloaded 2 pictures of a striped sidewinder in May 2012 that was found in the Coachella Valley and posted by Snakeherper5. It has a stripe on the neck and roughly the first third of the body, a small stripe in the middle, and another stripe on the end of the tail. I didn't save his full post and I can't find it in the archives and I don't want to show his pictures here without permission. Maybe he's still around and can post them again.
