I am trying to introduce a friend's daughter to snakes and other reptiles and was looking for a kids book on snakes with a science/biology/educational angle to it. The first search results of mine were not very helpful. Ideas???

Depends on the kid's age, but my son is 4 and loves this one.

This is the book that set me out on my herping journey, almost 55 years ago. I still enjoy reading it.

Thanks for the suggestions! I just ordered Katie of the Sonoran Desert. This sounds like a great book about snake biology and biologists and perfect for an almost-5-year-old. Look forward to browsing through it myself. Feel free to add more suggestions if you have them.
