Idk if it's because of flash photog, the way the scales reflect the sky, difficulty of the find, temperament of the snake, or moist muddy habitat resulting in finding a majority of dirty snakes... but, it seems like I never see a great shot of a Timber Rattlesnake. They have a lot of nice variety and some of the most beautifully colored patterns. A true work of art... I want to see the best of the best! That one time you came across a freshly shed, morph, or outrageous looking individual! Let's have it...
