Great series Porter!
Loved the striped gophers, that super nice toad in part three, and that valley garter with the big red blotches and orangish stripe. Looks like some pictures i've seen of T. s. parietalis from the midwest.

Thanks man! That orange dorsal striped individual was caught no more than 100 ft from the yellow dorsal striped checked blotched individual posted above it. It was crazy. I found them back to back. Looked to be a year apart in age and I've never seen that kind of morphism in fitchi before. I have seen some checkered gigas out there tho... also, the "peach" Valley garter. I don't know why I entitled it peach I remember thinking of that zonata you found last yr. I was probably tired and not thinking. But this snake looked like a rainbow trout... it was salmon colored with an similar iridescence to the fish. Looking pink at some angles to the light and green in other places. Most noticeable on the lateral stipe and neck area. also inbetween the eye and nostril. Horrible evening lighting to photograph that snake but I didn't want to take it home. I aslo found a total of 5 blue phasr DORs and two green phase DORs. Lot's of cool fitchi variations out there. You should head out to the notmas basin next year and see what you can find....yoloherper wrote:Great series Porter!

Here's one last shot of that fitchi you liked. Shows a little more of the dorsal:yoloherper wrote:Great series Porter!
