I saw a few other things, including a DOR eastern hognose, gopher tortoise, some coachwhips and several other examples of salamanders in NC. By far the most common salamander I saw was the Ocoee.

Cool post. The larva is actually Eurycea - not Desmognathus.

Wow, great finds! All cool finds (especially the Indigo and simus), but it's really hard to beat a huge EDB.

My friends and I have been about evenly split on this. Some said Eurycea, others said Desmogs. I went with Desmog...will lattea wrote:Cool post. The larva is actually Eurycea - not Desmognathus.
Thanks dwakefield. Now I have a couple of months to find a job
Krisbell - they were from many counties, mostly north central Florida. Was there something in particular you were interested in? Most of these should be on HERP if you're curious.
