Frog ID help - Mexico (Yucatan)
El Ray Ruins in Cancun
I may have a more detailed shot at home but unfortunately this is an artsy one.
Very small frog, Cricket Frog size. Handful of them in flooded grassy area by ruins in Cancun. Rather non-descript markings and features from what I can tell. No oversized eyes, markings are not bold, snout is average length by proportion.
Any initial thoughts on the ID? I found no comparable shots from google yet.

My best guess from what I can see is a Sabinal Frog Leptodactylus melanonotus.
It seems to have a triangle on back of head and some animals have white markings on lips.

Bill that looks like a good enough match to me. Thanks, I gave you a shoutout while blogging about a few varied wildlife shots from touristy parts of the Yucatan - https://daveblinder.wordpress.com/2017/ ... -18-400mm/BillMcGighan wrote:My best guess from what I can see is a Sabinal Frog Leptodactylus melanonotus.
