Argentina Trip

Post by Sheri B. »

Hello everybody! New here but not to field herping!

I may plan to visit Buenos Aires, Argentina at some point next year and would like to fit in some field herping and other wildlife sightseeing if possible. I have pinpointed 5 places that sound promising:

Peninsula el Valdes, Chubut Province - this place is mainly for marine animals.
Iguazu National Park, Misiones Province - herping prospect.
Yacutinga Nature Reserve, Misiones Province - seems to be abundant with bird species.
Puerto Deseado, Santa Cruz Province - more towards penguins and marine birds here.
Ibera Wetlands, Corrientes Province - also sounds promising for herping.

I have to admit that my main goal would be the false water cobra (Hydrodynastes gigas) so if anybody has a place or places to suggest seeing them, i'd greatly appreciate it! Likewise if you feel i should add a spot or take one out cause it isn't worth it, feel free to let me know!

Kind regards,

Sheri
