I'll be off to Malaysia via Singapore in a couple of weeks and am planning on doing at least a bit of herping. The thing is, I'll have to stop at Singapore customs (got meds that need permission) at both Changi airport and the Johor Bahru causeway. I'll be taking the camera, lenses, flash and torches, which are normal customs fare, but customs and Immigration rules being strict, I'm wondering if they'll be interested in a 105cm/42" three-piece snake hook.
Anyone got experience on this?

Re: Singapore customs vs. snake hook
Lots of Singaporean herpers visit Borneo, where I live, and bring their own snake hooks. I don't think there should be an issue. Parangs, however, they will confiscate, even from check-in luggage.

The hook wasn't a problem. They weren't interested at Changi airport and I managed to avoid checks at the Johor Bahru causeway immigration, where a check would have been thorough.
The immigration-process at the land-border is interesting to say the least.
