I'm in Salina Cruz, Oaxaca for a couple months, and would like some ID help.
This is a Rhinoclemmys that I found about 20-40 kilometers inland from Salina Cruz. It was an adult female with a uniform cream colored plastron. I'm not exactly sure if it is R. rubida or R. pulcherrima. I am leaning towards rubida, but was wondering if anyone has sure answer.
We encountered this iguana on a dirt road within a couple kilometers of the Pacific, doesn't look right for Iguana iguana for me, but the tail doesn't look right for Ctenosaura oaxacana. Any thoughts?

Great surf area, good time to be there. I hope that's what you're there for!
The lizard is definitely a ctenosaur; no idea which one. All the youngsters I've seen (various species, various countries, both coasts) have been green; they just turn grey or black or whatever they become, with age. No idea on the turtle, I've only seen that genus in Honduras. They eat the hell out of them there...sad.
See any Porthidium dunni? They're around there. Pretty cruisable, if that's advisable where you're at. Ha ha yikes...
cheers
