Herping Nepal

My wife and I are planning a trip to Nepal this September and I was hoping to see if anyone on the Forum had experience herping there. I contacted, Hans Breuer and he suggested that I post an inquiry here on FHF. I am looking to visit regions that have a nice herp diversity to photograph as many amphibian and reptile species as I can. We plan on spending 3-4 weeks in country. If anyone has any experience or advice on visiting Nepal I would appreciate any help they can offer.

Thanks in advance,

Paul

I havent herped in Nepal but regularly visit West Himalayas for trekking and butterflying. From my experience it is one of the hardest habitats to herp in along with grasslands of deccan plateau. Best bet to find anything is rains and spell of sunshine after rains as reptiles come out to bask in open. Finding amphibians is relatively easy in streams and surrounding grass is great for keelbacks.
